For the Love of Food 🐟

The year 2020 presented challenges for many people around the world, both personally and professionally. During that time, the 1818 Chophouse family pursued finding the silver-lining in it all.

In business, challenges were presented in ways they never had been before. Our daily focus, with ever changing guidelines, was maintaining relevance and finding creative ways to achieve a successful outcome. We also focused heavily on finding ways to provide our supportive community members something to get excited about.

In June 2020, when outdoor dining was permitted, we were graciously provided an opportunity to utilize the neighboring Park Street building for additional outdoor dining space. We started to brainstorm how to best utilize the space. Running 1818 Chophouse food and beverages across the street was a no-go. Given that Park Street previously housed a foodservice business – it had everything required by the Health Department to be fully operational, minus a hood. That is when the lights kicked on. We thought to ourselves, let’s open a Pop-up Raw Bar and Seafood Restaurant! We wanted a space for folks, near and far, to enjoy fresh seafood and great cocktails. Within a week’s time, Pop Chop n’ Chill was fully operational. A busy & friendly place to enjoy ice cold beer, heaping amounts of oysters & shrimp, refined small plates and hand-crafted cocktails. When the time came to close Pop Chop n’ Chill, thee thought of owning a seafood restaurant lingered on…

Fast forward two years later, 1818 Chophouse has settled into its new home at Trace on the Parkway. We have been working diligently on renovating & revamping our original Buchanan St. location into what is now known as 1818 Offshore. A brick-and-mortar version of Pop Chop n’ Chill, a neighborhood hang out if you will!

1818 Offshore is locally owned and operated by John Pashea, Megan Pashea & Adam Washburn. The family business newly opened in April 2022 atΒ  the original 1818 Chophouse Park Plaza location. Steps away from the City Park & Historic Main Street, there are many attractions bringing local residents and visitors to the downtown area to the vibrant dining scene!
